About us
St Peter’s Church is part of the Benefice of Monks Eleigh with Chelsworth and Brent Eleigh with Milden and Kettlebaston. At present there is a vacancy for Priest in Charge; however, local clergy will be taking the Sunday and special services.
Services
There is a Service of Holy Communion (BCP) most Wednesday mornings at 10 am at St Peter’s
Church, Monks Eleigh.
On Sundays, the 5 Churches in the Benefice take it in turns to host a Holy Communion service.
A Worship Diary with a list of services in the various Churches is available on A Church Near You website.
Benefice Choir
We have a Church Choir which sings at all our services. The choir members come from all the Churches in the Benefice and they would welcome new members, male and female, to continue leading the worship on Sundays. Choir Practice takes place on most Tuesdays at 6pm for 40mins.
Bell Ringers
St Peter’s Church has an enthusiastic and dedicated group of bell ringers. They practice on Friday evenings at 8pm.
Children
Children are welcome to St Peter’s Church. There is a play area set aside for the children in the Church and we now have activity packs devised for each age group to keep them occupied and interested during the Church service. Once a year we hold a Pet Service where there is an opportunity to bring your pet.
Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults
All our leaders undertake regular Safeguarding workshops so that we can protect vulnerable children and adults and make sure that we provide a safe place and space for everyone.
Prayers
We welcome the opportunity to pray for anyone regardless of whether they attend Church or not.
Activities Connected to the Benefice
The Benefice Walking Group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 9.30am outside The Swan Inn. Newcomers are welcome.
